Prime Minister Inaugurates Key Infrastructure Projects in Odisha, Boosting Energy, Rail, and Road Sectors

In a significant development for Atmanirbhar Bharat, Prime Minister Narinder Modi inaugurated state-of-the-art coal infrastructure projects in Odisha, reinforcing the nation's energy security and economic growth.

Key Infrastructure Inaugurations:

1. Mahanadi Coalfields Limited Projects:

   - Inauguration of First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects - Bhubaneswari Phase-I in Talcher Coalfields and Lajkura Rapid Loading System (RLS) at a cost of Rs. 2145 crore, enhancing coal quality and supply from Odisha.

2. Ib Valley Washery:

   - Unveiling of the Ib Valley Washery in Jharsuguda district at a cost of over Rs. 550 crore, marking a paradigm shift in coal processing for quality and sustainability.

3. Railway Infrastructure:

   - Dedication of a 50 km long second track of Jharsuguda-Barpali-Sardega rail line Phase-1 with an investment of Rs. 878 crore, improving rail connectivity in the region.

   - Laying the foundation stone for the redevelopment of Sambalpur Railway Station and dedicating the Sambalpur-Talcher Doubling Railway Line (168 Kms) and Jhartarbha to Sonepur New Railway line (21.7 Kms).

4. National Highways Projects:

   - Inauguration of three National Highways road sector projects, with a cumulative cost of about Rs. 2110 crore, aimed at enhancing connectivity and promoting economic development.

5. Educational and Heritage Inaugurations:

   - Inauguration of the permanent campus of IIM Sambalpur, contributing to the education sector.

   - Dedication of the Jharsuguda Head Post Office Heritage Building to the nation.
